Name of your Company/ University/ Magazine:
Catholic University of Milan
About me:
I would like to introduce myself by sharing the quote that I prefer the most: “A man who wants to do something will find a way. A man who doesn’t will find an excuse.”

Thanks to a 6-months work experience in Australia, I realized the importance of languages in order to link people that come from different cultural backgrounds. That’s why I chose to study foreign languages for business at Catholic University in Milan.

My entrepreneurial spirit bloomed during a marketing course. While I was working on a project focused on developing a new product for an existing company, I wondered: “Why on earth I’m not learning how to develop my own startup?”

Following this personal quest, I took a course about launching new business ventures at National University of Mexico City, where I was doing an exchange semester.

Then I attended the European Innovation Academy one of the most important entrepreneurship program in Europe.

I am now working on a thesis project on the implementation of the lean startup methodology in big companies.

SILICON VALLEY IS NOT JUST A PLACE, IT'S A STATE OF MIND.

I want to share with you some inspiring insights from this cool video about Silicon Valley (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r44RKWyfcFw)

« One of the key aspects that the venture capitalists in Silicon Valley promote is really the idea of risk taking and the idea “it’s okay to fail”. In many places, people look at if a company has to change his business plan or has to even close its business is being the worst thing that ever happened. But I think what people have figured out here is that, that experience is all in the path of being successful. This is not an area that supports incremental type of ideas. It’s not a place where we celebrate companies that have nice little niche businesses that make a handful people happy. This is an area that is about, you know, “let’s give you some gas for your tank but you’re gonna put your foot on the pedal and go as fast as you can go!” »

« Ultimately, it’s all about a cultural change progress. It’s about mindsets. If you are trying to build ecosystems, you gotta change the wiring in the human mind. Silicon Valley actually is not a place at all it’s a state of mind. States of mind are fundamentally what causes places like this to emerge. Changing states of mind drives macro scale economic development, and creates jobs. That’s radical. The need for that message to get out to people that are leading system, governments and our communities it’s critical because that’s the future. »

« Where ever you go, you can take the Silicon Valley spirit with you. It’s energy is contagious. You don’t have to be there to build something meaningful. You don’t have to be there to be successful. »

« If you are in a city where there is no access to capital, incubators or co-working spaces. Guess what? You are like 99% of the rest of the world. Fly to Silicon Valley, attend some events, meet a bunch of people, grow your network, learn from everyone, go back home and get to work. You know, if you wanna start a business go fricking make it happen! »

« If your city doesn’t help you. Start thinking out of the box. Be the pirate of your ecosystem. The real Silicon Valley is something inside you. If you start shaping your behavior. If you start to be open and helpful, if you start thinking big, you will influence those who surround you. Welcome to the mindset that allows you to change the world. Welcome to Silicon Valley. »
